Despite the fact that air transport is the safest transport, and passenger aircraft have great structural reliability, aviation accidents do sometimes happen.
On 29th of October 2021, at the 5th meeting of its 224th Session, the ICAO Council proclaimed February 20th as the International Day Commemorating Air Crash Victims and Their Families.
The NBAAI, which still has fresh memories of the infamous crashes of flight MH17 in 2014, flight PS752 in 2020, and other accidents with civil aircraft, expresses its commitment to the principles of providing support to victims of aviation accidents and their families.
In order to increase public confidence to the results of technical investigations in the field of flight safety, the NBAAI called on ICAO to take additional measures to improve the aviation accidents investigating procedures and to implement relevant amendments to the standards of Annex 13 to the Chicago Convention.
The day when the world remembers the victims of aviation accidents, the NBAAI expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased crew members and passengers and assures that it will do its best in achieving objectivity and fairness on the results of international investigations.
