ICAO Audit
ICAO delegates conducted an audit of flighs safety in Ukraine, compliance of Ukrainian aviation legislation with ICAO standards and recommended practices. The audit also addressed aviation accident investigation (AIG) issues.

Meeting in EASA headquarters in Cologne
Delegates from the NBAAI took part in the meeting at the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA, Cologne) headquarters to identify areas for practical cooperation.

NBAAI organized 51-st ACC ECAC meeting held in Kyiv. Representatives from 26 European member states participated in the event.

Flight safety monitoring in Ukraine
As part of the Continuous Monitoring (СMA) of the ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP), on June 5, the NBAAI took measures to confirm the elimination of deficiencies in the field of technical investigation of aviation events identified by the ICAO audit in 2016. According to the ICAO mission plan, 20 protocol questions (PQs) were subject to verification.

In Toulouse, France, NBAAI representatives and other EU member state’s representatives took part in a training seminar for air safety investigators organized by Airbus S.A.S.

ICAO Audit
Given that Ukraine is a member of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), an ICAO auditor arrived to Ukraine. The purpose of this audit is to verify the compliance of legislation and activities of the aviation industry of Ukraine with the standards and recommended practices of ICAO. Based on the results of this audit, measures will be developed to harmonize Ukrainian legislation with ICAO standards, which will help increase the level of flight safety in Ukraine and the level of flight safety management by the Ukrainian aviation authorities.

NBAAI signed a letter of intent with the Sudan’s Central Directorate of Air Accident Investigation
In Kyiv, NBAAI signed a letter of intent with Sudan’s Central Directorate of Air Accident Investigation. The document promotes more defined cooperation in the investigation of aviation accidents and incidents, exchange of information and professional knowledge in order to improve the level of flight safety.

NBAAI signed a letter of intent with French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA)
During Rémi Jouty, Director of the French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety visit to Kiev was signed a letter of intent, which defines the cooperation during investigation of aviation accidents. The document will facilitate the exchange of professional knowledge and information, technical capabilities and simplification of formalities during investigation of aviation accidents in which France and Ukraine are involved.

Representatives of the NBAAI took part in the 41st meeting of ACC ECAC held in Stockholm, Sweden.

Familiarization with the institutional aspects of the activities of the Netherlands air accident investigation authority
As part of the project “Support to the implementation of the transport strategy of Ukraine”, with the support of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Netherlands, NBAAI specialists visited the city of Hoofdorp to familiarize themselves with the institutional aspects of the Netherlands air accident investigation authority to adopt the best European practices and implement them in Ukraine.

NBAAI specialists took part in a seminar on the topic “Maintaining the aircraft airworthiness”
The seminar was held in Toulouse, France, at the University of Civil Aviation (ENAC). The aim of the seminar was to raise the level of knowledge of NBAAI specialists on the application of European regulations in the field of continuing airworthiness, training of technical personnel and aircraft maintenance.

NBAAI signed a code of conduct with the European Civil Aviation Conference on interaction in the field of accident and incident investigation, making the NBAAI a full member of this organization. The members of the organization include 32 European states.

Participation in a training organized by the French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA)
With the support from TAIEX and EU representation in Ukraine, in order to familiarize with the institutional aspects of the activities of the French Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA) in the field of aircraft accident investigation, NBAAI experts took part in related events organized by BEA.
